Art n’ Pembroke
16 July 2013
Looking up into the windows of where my art class is located in Kings College.
I am improving my art skills slowly but surely.
Having the habit of waking up at 5 or 6 every morning is both a blessing and a curse. It is not like I want my body to do it everyday…it just does it. No matter how late I go to bed, sure enough when the time comes in the morning for the clock to strike 5:25, I wake up! What is this all about? The good thing is being so bright-eyed and bushy-tailed so early in the morning gives me more incentive to go out and exercise before my day even begins. Over my 20+ years of learning the ins and outs of staying physically fit, I have discovered that exercising in the morning not only tends to get done more than exercising at night…but it sets your entire day up for success. There are two things that I know if I do in the morning my day will be so much more productive. Those two things are exercising, and reading some form of motivating text before I leave my room. In my case that motivating text is the scriptures. Right now I am reading the Book of Mormon, a complementary book to the Bible that we learn from in my faith of Mormonism, and I am reading it in Portuguese. I have both the English and Portuguese version out and the same time, along with my little Portuguese dictionary.
The entrance into Pembroke College, my college, and the lovely cafeteria sign…where I dine everyday (notice I say dine, not eat).
I find that nothing is ever certain in my life. Constantly I change my direction, a change my journey or even sometimes my future destination so that my goals are better encompassed. I have been thinking a lot about my supervision with Stefano Tasseli, a professor of business from Italy. I came with the idea of organizing creativity and structure within an organization, last week I transformed that idea into strictly analyzing Apple and what they have done to be in the successful position they are, and today I met with Stefano and announced that I would like to take all these ideas that are floating in my head and actually apply them to my business idea that I have been forming over the past 2 years. My goal is to output a business model canvas that I can use to pitch to investors here at Cambridge, and al around the world. Cambridge is one of the most innovative areas in the world, climbing the ranks up to that of areas such as Silicon Valley. My ideas is well thought through, but not well written or ready to be well-expressed. Over the next several weeks I will work on fixing that and then reveal to you what it is all about. Hold onto your horses until then.
