Hanoi & Halong Bay Vietnam

Sien chow (Hello) – Welcome to Vietnam!  Did you know that Vietnamese has 6 tones and is actually quite a difficult language to learn.

Our guide’s name is Xiec, which means circus – as his parents met and dated at the circus.  Cute, right?  Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam and is located in the North part of the country.  It’s most popular dish is Pho – and is one of the most delicious soups I have ever tasted.

During our stay we also visited Halong Bay (several hours outside of Hanoi) is compiled over over 1690 islands.  Each island is named after a mythical character that it resembles, such as Ha am Bay, depicting a Dragon descending into the ocean.  Halong Bay is a UNESCO Heritage Site, and is one of the most beautiful destinations in Southeast Asia!
